Privacy policy

KG Marfil Photography ("I", "me") is a wedding and portrait photography business based in Toronto, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information I collect, why, and how I look after it. I follow Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA).

What I collect

When you inquire: your name, email, phone number (if you share it), event date, venue or city, guest count, and anything else you tell me. This can come from my website's contact form, a Facebook or Instagram lead form, Messenger, Instagram messages, or email.

When you book: the details needed for your agreement, such as names, contact details, event details, and payment records. Payments are made by Interac e-Transfer. I never see or store card or banking numbers.

When you book a call: your name, email, and the time you choose, through Google Calendar.

When you visit the website: basic usage information like pages viewed, device type, and general location, collected with cookies (see below).

How I use it

- To reply to your inquiry with availability and rates
- To prepare your agreement, plan your shoot, and deliver your photos
- To send receipts, reminders, and, after delivery, a request for a review
- To understand how people use my website and ads so I can improve them

I don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and I don't add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be added.

Your photos

As set out in your agreement, I may share photos from your session or wedding in my portfolio, on my website, and on social media. You can opt out, fully or for specific photos (for example, of children), by letting me know in writing. If you'd like a photo taken down later, email me and I'll remove it.

Who I share it with

Only the services I use to run the business, and only as needed:
- Shopify (website and contact form)
- Google (email, calendar, Analytics, and file storage for galleries)
- Microsoft (email and calendar)
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram ads, lead forms, and messages)

These companies store information on their own servers, which may be outside Canada. I may also share information if the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

My website uses cookies to work properly (for example, to remember that you closed a pop-up) and Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.

How long I keep it

I keep inquiry details for up to two years if you don't book. For clients, I keep agreements and payment records as long as needed for tax and legal purposes, usually seven years. Galleries are kept for the period stated in your agreement.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you, or ask me to stop contacting you. Email hello@kimmarfil.ca and I'll reply within 30 days.

Changes

If I update this policy, I'll change the date at the top of this page.
